Janko Tipsarevic, although a very well-known player, had been off the tennis circuit for some time due to injury and as such, had fallen out of the media spotlight. He wanted to rekindle his relationship with the media who loved him whilst spreading a message of the importance of mindset in sport for young, aspiring players and sharing his own challenging entry into the sport through a mastermind, hosted by him.
What We Did
We identified a raft of tennis media outlets around the world to connect with including the UK, US and Serbia. A Mastermind hosting platform was created ready for people to register to. We crafted a media release to accompany a pitch and pitched to over 30 outlets around the world.
Excitingly, one of the most successful pieces of media secured was with the largest podcast in the world for Tennis ‘The Tennis Podcast’ hosted by BBC 5Live presenter David Law. David loved interviewing Janko and when I spoke with him, expressed how long he had waited to interview him! The interview, normally only half an hour, went on for over an hour, citing ‘pure gold’ content for listeners. This coverage was merely one of many to follow along with many tennis magazines both in print and digital.
Janko filled his mastermind and was able to connect with young aspiring tennis players and arranged a one on one coaching call with one player keen to make it to professional status and pick Janko’s brains!
